Update 1 (Pre-April 2013): NDM Application progress
NDM will submit a departmental Athena SWAN application in April 2013. Over the past number of months, NDM units have been busy setting up self-assessment groups, who are responsible for creating an action plan for change. Many of the self-assessment groups have already had their first meeting, and it is anticipated that at least 3-4 meetings will take place before the April deadline.
The NDM Staff and Student survey has closed and results are being assessed at individual unit level. Analysis of the feedback from the eight focus group meetings, which took place from mid-October to the 3rd of November is underway. This information will aid self-assessment groups with understanding current perceptions of the department in relation to a number important issues, including promotion opportunities, equality across genders, transparency of decision making and work life balance.
Feedback
We would welcome any feedback that you would like to provide, either through your unit’s self-assessment group, or by contacting the Athena SWAN coordinator.
